Meet Our Preschool and MDO Teachers
Toddlers - Busy Bees Joyce Gonsalves Beard - I am a Tulsa
native who was born and raised in the UUMC local area. I have volunteered as a
substitute for the UUMC Preschool before when I was a high school student. I was
married for seven years to an Air Force soldier and I have one son. I have been
a nanny for a local neighbor before and have baby-sat for children from UUMC and
for neighbors in my own neighborhood. I love helping little ones learn and grow
to their best potential ability. My though is every child deserves a chance at
having a happy experience with their school days. Nichole Tomberlin - I
was raised in Florida and moved to Tulsa the summer before my senior year of
high schoolto live with my mom. During that year, I got saved and started a
relationship with God. Through that God started to reveal his passions to me. I
started working with kids as much as I could. I love working with kids and I
currently work in many programs such as preschools, Celebrate Recovery
ministries and much more. I am currently a college student working on a degree
in elementary education. I hope to work in full-time ministry or in Title One
schools. I am so excited to be workinmg with the Busy Bees class and can't wait
to see what God does through our class.
2s - Little Monkeys Jammie Hayes - I am happy to return for my
second year at UUMC. I have 2 children, Collin, who is 14 and Sydney, who is
soon to be 10. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 17 years. I have
been a substitute teacher at Hoover Elementary for 5 years. I am also an avid
Scouter. My son is almost an Eagle Scout and I am his troop's Committee
Chairman. I am also my daughter's Girl Scout Leader and she is a Junior Scout. I
am looking forward to this school year and getting to know your kids.
3s and Pre-K - All-Stars Lorraine Kaefer - I am happy to return
to UUMC for another fantastic year. I have three grown daughters. My husband and
I have been married for over 30 years. Before beginning my teaching at UUMC, I
worked for Union Public Schools in all volunteer areas. I sat on many PTA
Boards, helped open a new elementary school for Union and I headed up the
Booster Club for Union Dance for 8 years. I love working with children and look
forward to a new year! Cathy Vogel - I am returning to UUMC for another
great year. I have two grown children and four beautiful grandchildren. I love
working with children and enjoy watching them develop and grow.
Preschool and MDO Director Susan Tindell - I am a Tulsa native
with three boys and have been married for twenty years. I love working with
children and their families in a Church setting. I began my career with the
Methodist Church in 1992 working for Faith UMC and stayed there for 13 years. I
held many roles while there and was a preschool teacher for five of those years.
Upon leaving Faith UMC I became a Children's Ministry Director for Sapulpa UMC
and most recently Christ UMC here in Tulsa. I am very involved in my kid's
school and have served as the PTA President for the past three years. I love
working for UUMC in it's friendly, cozy atmosphere and look forward to another
great school year!
